The short version

  • The vendor's statement

A certificate line is the vendor's own statement, shown in fixed words, with the certificate it gave.

  • Not our judgment

Muslim.Red does not check certificates, and makes no statement of its own about any food.

  • Down when it runs out

A line stops showing by itself the day after the certificate's last day.

  • Tell us if it looks wrong

Report a certificate from its page. Our team asks the vendor, and may take the line down meanwhile.

What a certificate line is

Muslim.Red Delivery is run by Muslim Red LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy is part of our Delivery Terms and of every vendor's agreement with us. A vendor may give Muslim.Red a certificate from a certifier the vendor names, about how its food or goods are prepared or sourced. While the certificate is current, and only then, Muslim.Red Delivery shows one line, in these words and no others: "Certified by [certifier], per the [vendor]". The certifier's name is the vendor's, exactly as the vendor gave it.

  • On the certificate's own view, under the line: "This is the vendor's own statement. Muslim.Red shows the certificate the vendor gave and does not check it." That view also shows what the certificate covers, in fixed words, its number and its dates, and opens the file the vendor gave.
  • A certificate covers the whole kitchen or store, or only the items the vendor marks. Where it covers only marked items, the line shows on those items only, and the vendor's page says: "Items without this line are not covered by a certificate on file."
  • The filter is called "Has a certificate on file". No badge, label, filter or message about certificates uses any other words.
  • A certificate never moves a vendor up a list: vendors are listed by whether they are taking orders now, and then by distance.

What Muslim.Red never says

Muslim.Red makes no statement of its own, in any page, list, message or email of delivery, about how a vendor's food is prepared, sourced or slaughtered, or whether it meets any religious standard. Vendors may not make such statements in their names, descriptions or menus either: the certificate line, from the certificate on file, is the only place it appears. Muslim.Red does not check certificates or certifiers, and does not decide any religious question.

If a vendor's practices matter to you, ask the vendor and its certifier before you order.

What a vendor does

  • The vendor's owner or a manager adds the certificate: the file itself, the certifier exactly as it appears on it, the number, the dates and what it covers, and signs the Certificate Attestation each time. A certificate that has already run out cannot be added.
  • The vendor promises the certificate is real, current and covers what it marks, and withdraws it at once when that stops being true, under the Vendor Marketplace Agreement.
  • A new certificate replaces the one before. The vendor may withdraw a certificate at any time.

When a certificate runs out

The line stops showing by itself the day after the certificate's last day. The vendor hears from us 30, 14 and 7 days before, and again when it has run out.

Reporting a certificate

  • Anyone signed in may report a certificate on file from its page, in a sentence or two, a few times a day at most.
  • Our team reads each report. It may write to the vendor and keep the line showing while it waits for the answer, or stop showing the line while it asks. It then keeps the certificate, or keeps the line down, and may put a line back once the vendor answers.
  • Our team looks only at what the vendor gave: the certificate, its dates, and whether it covers what is marked. It does not judge any religious question.

The record we keep

We keep every certificate a vendor gave, with its history (added, replaced, expired, suspended, reinstated, withdrawn, reported, asked) and the attestation signed for it. We keep them for 7 years after the vendor's agreement with us ends, when the business closes or its application is turned down, then delete them with their files.
